The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will support our SaaS platform on AWS, bringing deep expertise in Kubernetes (EKS), Helm, Terraform, AWS services, and automation. The ideal candidate will own deployments end-to-end, debug production issues under pressure, and lead large-scale environment and data migrations. Location: Remote (Canada)
Responsibilities
Manage, troubleshoot, and optimize workloads on EKS; handle Helm-based deployments.
Support and troubleshoot HA Postgres clusters (Patroni), including replication, failover, and performance tuning.
Build and maintain Terraform modules for AWS networking, compute, and storage (Transit Gateway, VPC endpoints, IAM, Security Groups).
Design and troubleshoot IAM policies, roles, and RBAC permissions across AWS and Kubernetes.
Debug and optimize EFS/EBS performance and availability issues.
Write automation in Python and Bash to improve reliability and streamline infrastructure operations.
Support GitLab CI/CD pipelines, integrate security scanning (SAST/DAST, Trivy, SonarQube), and enforce best practices.
Lead migration efforts for GitLab, Harbor artifacts, MinIO data, and SaaS applications.
Partner with SRE, platform, and application engineers to unblock teams and stabilize environments.
Leverage AmazonQ or similar AI tools for faster troubleshooting and automation.
Basic Qualifications
Strong hands-on experience with AWS core services: Transit Gateway, VPC Endpoints, IAM, Security Groups, EFS, and EBS.
Deep expertise with EKS, Helm, Terraform, Kubernetes RBAC, and troubleshooting at scale.
Proven experience with Postgres/Patroni administration and troubleshooting.
Advanced automation skills in Python (preferred) and Bash.
CI/CD experience (GitLab/Jenkins or equivalent).
Strong troubleshooting mindset — ability to debug infra, networking, and storage issues quickly.
Experience with large-scale migrations of environments, data, and applications.
Familiarity with DevSecOps practices (secrets management, vulnerability scanning, compliance automation).
